Lehigh Valley Health Network has announced that COVID-19 booster shots for vaccinated, immunocompromised people are now available. WDIY’s Sarit Laschinsky has more.

Immunocompromised people who received the initial two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, and who have also received a third, primary dose 28 days or longer after completing the initial two-shot series, are eligible for a booster.

The booster can be received five months after the third shot.

LVHN says people who received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine should receive a booster, preferably Pfizer or Moderna, two months after the initial jab, and should only get an additonal dose of the J&J vaccine if they cannot receive an mRNA vaccine booster.

The network is accepting appointment requests for eligible people to receive the fourth-dose booster shots, which can be scheduled through the MyLVHN patient portal or by calling the LVHN COVID-19 vaccine hotline at 833-584-6283 from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
