WDIY's Top 10 Albums of June 2021

We’re halfway through summer and almost done with July, so here’s a look back at what our WDIY listeners were loving on air in the month of June. Scroll down for the descriptions, and flip through the slideshow to check out the album art. If you want to see your favorites bumped up higher on the list for July, or have something new entirely you want on air, then request your favorite songs and albums to our volunteer hosts!

#10- Hearts Town by War and Treaty reappeared on February 2021’s list and has been on rotation at WDIY ever since. It was released on September 25, 2020 by husband and wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount.

  #9- Hard Up by The Bamboos was released on May 7th, 2021. This nine piece powerhouse has truly refined their unique blend of funk, soul, and R & B for their tenth studio album.

#8- Today We’re the Greatest by Middle Kids is only the second studio album released by the Australian alternative-indie rock band. It dropped on March 19th, 2021.

#7-Yellow Coat by Matt Costa first appeared in November 2020’s at WDIY, and returned again in February 2021. Our listeners and hosts have been loving this album consistently since then. This album was released on September 11, 2020 by California resident Matt Costa.

#6- Hunter And The Dog Star by Edie Brickell & New Bohemians first appeared on our Top 10 Albums list last month in second place. This album came out on February 19, 2021. It marked the 5th album for the band.

#5- The Land That Time Forgot by Chuck Prophet has been a long-time favorite at WIDY. This album has been consistently reappearing on our top 10 lists for the past year! The album originally came out on August 21, 2020.

#4- Open Door Policy is another new appearance in the WDIY studio from last month. This is the 8th studio album by American band The Hold Steady. It was released on February 19, 2021, through the band's own label Positive Jams.

#3-Private Lives by Low Cut Connie is another WDIY favorite from last month. The frontman Adam Weiner is a Philadelphia native, so it’s only fitting! This double-feature 17-song album was released on October 16, 2020.

#2- Obviously has skyrocketed in popularity amongst hosts and listeners from last month, jumping all the way up to second place! This the 7th studio album released by multi-genre Lake Street Dive, released on March 12, 2021.

#1- J.T. by Steve Earle & the Dukes has claimed the hearts and ears of our listeners, keeping its first place ranking from last month. It was released on January 4, 2021.
