WDIY's Top 10 Albums of December 2020

2020 brought with it plenty of ups and downs as well as some fantastic new music releases and some old classic discoveries. Before we jump into 2021's music scene, let's take a look at what our WDIY listeners enjoyed the most on air from December 2020. #1- Bruce Springsteen’s 12th studio album, Letter to You, is yet again the most played album of the month on WDIY. Released on October 23, 2020, Letter to You is Springsteen's first new studio album with his regular backing band, The E Street Band, since 2014's High Hopes

#2- Rough and Rowdy Ways by Bob Dylan is celebrating a five-month winning streak on WDIY! Dylan’s 39th album was released on June 19, 2020.

#3- Saint Cloud by Waxahatchee has moved up one spot last month and has managed to keep that stronghold.This is the 5th studio album by the American indie rock act, released on March 27, 2020.

#4- The Land That Time Forgot is still in 4th place from November 2020’s spot. This album was released on May 15th, 2020 from California native Chuck Prophet.

#5- Soul Food: Cooking with Maceo has managed to maintain last month’s ranking to round out 2020. Funk legend Maceo Parker released this album on June 26, 2020.

#6- XOXO by The Jayhawks is now celebrating five months of non-stop spins at WDIY. This album was released on July 10, 2020, and is their 11th album to date.

#7- Good Souls Better Angels by Lucinda Williams is back in the ranks after disappearing from the Top 10 after October 2020. She released her new album on April 24, 2020.

#8- The New Abnormal by The Strokes is still on WDIY’s shortlist after disappearing in September 2020’s ranks and reappearing again last month. This is the 6th studio album by the American rock band and was released on April 10, 2020.

#9- Look Long by Indigo Girls has held its spot for another month from its original rank from the October 2020 list. It’s the 15th album by the American folk rock duo. 

#10- That’s What I Heard by The Robert Cray Band is Cray's 20th studio album and was released almost a year ago on February 28, 2020. Robert William Cray, leader of the band, is a five-time Grammy Award-winning American blues guitarist and singer.
