Drop-in to the Art Ways Interactive Family Gallery on the second floor of the Museum every Saturday and Sunday to make your own art to take home during ArtVentures. Museum educators are on hand to help guide you in creating an artwork inspired by the Museum’s collection. Design your own creation and bring it to life on one of our 3D printers. All ages and abilities welcome! Free.

On December 4, 1956, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins descend on Sun Studio in Memphis. What follows is one of the greatest impromptu jam sessions in music history. Do you want to learn how to record, edit, and publish your own original song, or music for a video? Learn the basics of recording, editing, and publishing live music, using the latest technology, equipment, and software, including Logic Pro X, Final Cut Pro X, Sibelius, Waves, Allen and Heath, Neve, and Neumann. Our small classes (9 students maximum) will provide you with access to a state-of-the-art, professional-grade recording facility and an experienced sound engineer. You will learn to use the same mics, preamps, and plugins as those found in professional recording studios.

Ages: 12+, no experience required

For students not currently enrolled in private lessons at CMS, a $25 group class registration fee will be automatically processed after enrollment.

Join Miss Kelly Hooper for our early childhood music education program that inspires youngsters to sing, listen, move, dance, create musical crafts, and learn about classical composers. Your 4-6 year old will leave with the knowledge of playful musical techniques, fascinating instruments, and maybe a few new songs stuck in their heads! Grownups must be present for the last 15 minutes of class.
