Easton’s Hugh Moore Park is a picturesque extension of the City of Easton where America’s golden age of canals is on full display. With more than two miles of restored Lehigh Canal, a canal boat attraction unlike any other in Pennsylvania and the rest of the Northeast, and one of the country’s largest canal heritage museums, the 520-acre park nestled between the Lehigh Canal and Lehigh River is a throwback to the years when mules pulling canal boats on narrow towpaths was a common sight in much of the United States east of the Mississippi River.
The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor interprets this fascinating period of American history in the park through the National Canal Museum and rides on the 110-passenger Josiah White II canal boat (June-October). Explore our fun, hands-on exhibits highlighting 19th century canal life and technology.
New improvements to Hugh Moore Park have made it a destination that families do not want to miss! A playground, bike skills course, dog park, and multi-use path await you. You can also rent bikes, canoes, paddleboats, and kayaks to explore the park from the Welcome Center (June-October).
Take time to explore the information on this website and get directions before you visit. Please note that tour groups may be present while planning your visit to our museum. As a small museum, we recommend allowing yourself ample time to explore, especially if there are groups also enjoying the museum during your visit. If you have any questions regarding your visit please contact us at canalmuseum@delawareandlehigh.org.
Drop-in to the Art Ways Interactive Family Gallery on the second floor of the Museum every Saturday and Sunday to make your own art to take home during ArtVentures. Museum educators are on hand to help guide you in creating an artwork inspired by the Museum’s collection. Design your own creation and bring it to life on one of our 3D printers. All ages and abilities welcome! Free.

This one-hour workshop, designed for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade, will allow kids to explore mindfulness in a way that’s accessible, joyful, and meaningful. The session will introduce a playful mindfulness technique and pair it with a hands-on craft that reinforces emotional awareness, focus, and self-expression.
The African Children’s Choir is marking over four decades of transforming lives through the power of music, education and hope. As they embark on a tour of more than 100 cities, the Choir will continue to captivate audiences with their heartwarming performances with a show that blends traditional hymns and African cultural sounds.
Comprised of children ages 8 to 10, all from vulnerable backgrounds across Africa, the African Children’s Choir serves as a powerful testament to the resilience and potential of Africa’s future leaders. Each child in the Choir has faced significant hardship, often with limited access to education. Yet, through the Choir, these children gain life-changing opportunities for education and personal growth, becoming beacons of hope for their communities.
