Museum educators are on hand to help guide you in creating an artwork inspired by the Museum’s collection. Design your own creation and bring it to life on one of our 3D printers. Join for an evening's exploration of the history and living traditions of Samhain, All Souls, and Halloween in the Celtic spirit.
Community Sing: sing a few simple and powerful songs of the harvest, darkness, after-life and other-worlds from the Celtic folk & spirituality traditions with Fiona Gillespie.
Craft: learn the history and lore of Ireland's ancient alphabet, the Ogham script, with practitioner Beth Ritter-Guth. Make an ogham stick with your chosen letter as a memento to connect to ancestry. Sticks provided (wood burning pen used.)
Memorial: light a candle in remembrance and pour out a portion of libation as an offering - a collective ritual experience accompanied by Celtic harpist Liv Castor. These acts, done in community, act as a beautiful and powerful connector to our roots and branches. Candles & beverage provided.

11-week in-person or virtual program provides information while addressing the needs of grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.
Pinebrook Family Answers (PbFA) popular Grandparents Group psychoeducational support program begins on Wednesday, February 19th and runs through April 30th. The one-hour classes begin at 11 am, open to the community, virtual or in person. The 11-week program provides support and resources for grandparents, non-custodial caregivers and guardians who are raising children. Topics include understanding legal terms and processes; refining parenting skills, understanding child-developmental stages and positive discipline; building relationships through effective communication skills, intrapersonal connections, and conflict resolution; helping kids process trauma; and much more.
In addition to the educational information provided, the goal of the group is to provide opportunities for members to connect with each other, lessen feelings of isolation and create community that can extend beyond our group setting. Discover the fascinating world of Barred Owls and the wetlands they call home during this engaging evening with Jim Wilson of Friends of Minsi Lake. Learn how a unique conservation partnership—spanning local Boy Scouts, volunteers from Lehigh Valley Audubon Society and Friends of Minsi Lake, Northampton County Parks staff, and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary biologists—has been providing Barred Owls with nestboxes and monitoring their use across Bear Swamp and the Minsi Lake Greenway since 2020. Through stories of six owl families and the dedicated community behind them, you will gain insight into owl ecology, learn about other owl species of Pennsylvania, and discover how you can create, install, and maintain nestboxes to support these remarkable cavity-nesting birds.
Tap Talks are a regular series of educational talks on environmental and conservation topics with a focus on water, given by regional experts and held at local breweries, wineries, distilleries and coffee shops. Come out to meet like-minded people, deepen your knowledge and support a local business.
