Due to the threat of the highly-transmissible Omicron variant and evidence of the waning effectiveness of COVID vaccines over time, several Lehigh Valley colleges and universities will require students and staff to get a booster shot for the upcoming spring semester. Lafayette College and Muhlenberg College will require students, faculty and staff to get their booster by Feb. 1, 2022.
Lehigh University has set a deadline of Jan. 14, 2022, for all eligible continuing students and staff to get their booster and submit official documentation.
All three universities strongly recommend that students and staff make plans to get their vaccine boosters over winter break.
