By Christopher ChenA searing and timely exploration of colonialism, power, and the invisible walls that divide us. Passage is a gripping modern-day allegory that speaks directly to our current moment-challenging us to reflect on systems of oppression and the struggle to connect across differences. Urgent, thought-provoking, and profoundly human, this play invites audiences to question how we move forward in a fractured world. Adam Ercolani, director.

Beppe Gambetta returns to Godfrey Daniels with a lifetime of music that bridges oceans and generations. Hailing from Genova, Italy, Gambetta has carved a singular path as a guitarist, composer, and cultural ambassador, blending American roots and European traditions into a vibrant, distinctive sound. From early collaborations with Norman Blake and Tony Trischka to his solo projects exploring Italian string virtuosi and immigrant ballads, Gambetta’s work invites listeners into a rich, cross-cultural conversation shaped by fifty years of musical exploration. His latest release, Terra Madre, features collaborators like David Grisman, Tim O’Brien, and Howard Levy, continuing his legacy of crafting heartfelt compositions rooted in heritage and human experience.
Opening the evening is Rees Shad, a masterful Americana storyteller known for his deep catalog of narrative-driven songs and cinematic songwriting approach. Together, Gambetta and Shad offer a night of acoustic depth and global perspective—an experience tailor-made for Godfrey Daniels’ intimate, listening-room setting.
Voted “Musician of the Year” at the Scots Trad Music Awards in 2023, and with a career spanning several studio albums and numerous high-profile collaborations, Julie Fowlis’ “crystalline” and “intoxicating” vocals have enchanted audiences around the world. Her music is deeply influenced by the Hebridean islands where she grew up and the Highland landscapes where she now resides. She will forever be recognized for singing the theme song to Brave, Disney Pixar’s Oscar-, Golden Globe-, and BAFTA-winning animated film set in the ancient highlands of Scotland.
