When everyday life doesn’t inspire us, we can turn to other art forms to move us. Learn how to build a friendship between verse and art by using the energy of music, paintings, films and more to create exciting ekphrastic poems. This encouraging workshop will help you collect inspirations and engage with structures, themes and motifs of other artists. You will read published examples of ekphrastic poetry, complete generative exercises and share drafts with fellow writers. Come empty-handed to write something new, or bring some works-in progress to revise. Led by Cynthia Arrieu-King.
By Christopher ChenA searing and timely exploration of colonialism, power, and the invisible walls that divide us. Passage is a gripping modern-day allegory that speaks directly to our current moment-challenging us to reflect on systems of oppression and the struggle to connect across differences. Urgent, thought-provoking, and profoundly human, this play invites audiences to question how we move forward in a fractured world. Adam Ercolani, director.

Coco Montoya, an award-winning guitarist and soulful singer, has built his career on passion and authenticity. A self-taught left-handed player, he learned from blues legends Albert Collins and John Mayall, forging a style that blends fiery guitar work with emotionally charged vocals. Since his 1995 solo debut—winning a Blues Music Award—Montoya has remained a top blues artist. His latest album, Writing On The Wall, is his sixth release on Alligator Records and one of his strongest yet. Produced by Grammy-winning Tony Braunagel and co-produced by Jeff Paris, it features 13 powerful tracks, including five written or co-written by Montoya, backed by his seasoned band.
Raised in Santa Monica, California, Montoya’s love of music began with drums before shifting to guitar after a transformative experience watching Albert King. A chance meeting with Collins led to him joining the blues legend’s band, first as a drummer and later as a guitarist under Collins’ mentorship. He then spent a decade with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, refining his craft before launching a solo career that has seen him release acclaimed albums on Blind Pig, Ruf Records, and Alligator.
An unstoppable force on stage, Montoya has captivated audiences across five continents with his electrifying performances. With Writing On The Wall and an intense tour schedule, he continues to deliver his fiery, deeply personal blues to fans worldwide.
