Nolan Ayres, Phyllis Hopkins, and Julio Caprari all come from diverse musical backgrounds. PHYLLIS HOPKINS has shared stages with many top tier blues artists through the course of her career. Known for her unique voice and fiery guitar solos, she has already released two independent CD's of her own music.
Although the songs run the gamut from rock to quirky pop, the cornerstone of all of her work has been a deep love of blues. More often than not, her work is rooted there, regardless of where it may roam stylistically. You can hear healthy doses of MAGIC SAM AND RONNIE EARL in her guitar playing. Her voice is dynamic, sometimes quiet and demure and other times loud and forceful.
Drummer JULIO CAPRARI'S was a member of Sting Ray's Blues Band. That group's leader, Ray DelPriore, is a well-known blues guitarist in the Pittston area and it proved to be a fertile training ground in traditional blues. It was here that he met bassist NOLAN AYRES who was also part of Ray's band.
After that group dissolved, it was a few years until the two would work together again, this time behind Phyllis. From their back BONE SHUFFLES, ROCK DRIVING, LATIN STYLES to their slow DYNAMIC RHYTHMS, this trio proved to be a perfect fit and were out playing almost immediately. The band works a steady schedule of club dates in the greater Northeastern, Pa areas, playing eclectic covers and originals. If you get an opportunity, check them out.
This dynamic trio rooted in Blues, Rock, R&B, Latin and original styles of music and have been performing together for 7 years at many festivals and clubs in NEPA. The Trio has just released its 2nd CD, “From the Soul” Phyllis’s 4th throughout her career. Inspired by great blues guitarists and R&B vocalists; this trio’s original music goes over just as great as the artists they emulate. Fronted by Phyllis Hopkins, lead vocalist and guitarist, and backed by one of the best rhythm sections in NEPA, Nolan Ayers on Bass and Julio Caprari on drums.
Inspired by the original 1936 film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a hysterical downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex and violence. This pointed political satire will go straight to your head!
Hailing from Pennsylvania, Profane Elegy was formed by multi-instrumentalist J Gulick and vocalist/lyricist Mikael L in late 2021. Drawn together by their shared extreme music influences they set out to create a distinctly black metal sound infused with death, progressive, and doom metal elements.
