GreenFaith's "Sacred People, Sacred Earth" | WDIY News Exclusive

WDIY News' Marcie Lightwood explores the international groupGreenFaith, whose March 11 event "Sacred People, Sacred Earth" draws attention to bold, new climate justice actions carried out by people of diverse religions around the world, including here in the Lehigh Valley.
 


She is joined by Rev. Fletcher Harper, Episcopal priest and the Executive Director of GreenFaith, Rev. Dr. Pamela Payne, Rabbi Michael Singer, and Matilda Kitabwalla, who discusses how their faiths’ activism can motivate others to care for the Earth.

Marcie Lightwood came to WDIY to set up WDIY's first on-air membership drive, and she has stayed with the station ever since. Marcie is a self-employed social worker, specializing in parenting education, working with people in poverty and group facilitation. Currently, Marcie serves as local host for NPR's All Things Considered on Friday afternoons along with producing special WDIY news features. She is the mother of four grown children and lives in Allentown.
