Carlos Benjamin talks with genre-bending singer-songwriter Maria Woodford ahead of her show at Godfrey Daniels on Friday, May 16th.
A pioneering voice in the anti-folk movement, Maria is known for her unforgettable vocals and fearless interpretations. As Woodford recounts, her musical journey has taken her from playing bass in a Led Zeppelin cover band to her unique folk songwriting to, most recently, trying her hand at blues. Notably, Woodford has frequently performed with eastern PA local artist and former WDIY on-air guest, Alex Radus.
