Hosts Paul Willistein and George VanDoren welcomed the top elementary, middle and high school student poets for the 14th Annual Student Poetry Project to read their winning poems and discuss their writing process.
The winning students were:
- High School: Evelyn Blower, Southern Lehigh High School
- Middle School: Jocelynn Zeruth, Northampton Area Middle School
- Elementary School: Bowen Liu, Freemansburg Elementary School
The Student Poetry Project is held each year by WDIY and the Lehigh Valley Press papers. A panel of local educators and writing professionals accept entries from students across the Lehigh Valley. In celebration of National Poetry Month in April, the top winners from each category are invited onto Lehigh Valley Arts Salon to read their poems in April, along with having their poems published in the Press newspapers.
