Host Paul Willistein welcomes the three first-place winners of the 12th Annual Student Poetry Project to read their poems live on the air and discuss their writing. This year's top writers are Kara Gardner, Lincoln Elementary School, East Penn School District; Victoria Farrell, Trexler Middle School, Allentown School District; and Olivia Sica, Kutztown Area High School, Kutztown Area School District.
In celebration of National Poetry Month in April, poems have been selected in each of the elementary school, middle school, and high school categories. The poems of the three top writers along with six more elementary school, middle school, and high school students will be published in the Focus section of the eight Lehigh Valley Press websites and newspapers.
