Get Out! for Wellness: McDade Trail, Bushkill Access Trailhead, Delaware Water Gap

Get Out! for Wellness: McDade Trail, Bushkill Access Trailhead, Delaware Water Gap

Join Wildlands Conservancy: We’ll walk about 3 miles on this out-and-back hike along part of the 31-mile McDade Trail, beside the Delaware River. We’ll go north from Bushkill Access as the trail follows a narrow ribbon of land between US 209 and the river. Then we’ll continue north beside overgrown fields, and pine and hardwood forests to our turn-around spot where picnic tables and park benches overlook the Delaware. Our trail is hardpacked gravel and mostly level. The trail, named for Joseph M. McDade, the district’s congressman during the Tocks Island era, is popular with bike riders, as well as walkers. Dress in layers for the weather. Dogs on leash are welcome on the McDade Recreational Trail all year.

This walk is free and is part of the Get Out! For Wellness series, in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network. Please register online.
