FREE Literary Event: Calling All Writers & Lover of Literature!
Enjoy a special evening of literature, creativity and community as the Charter Arts Literary Arts Department kicks off its "Showcase at the Lodge" series on Oct. 3rd from 6-8 PM at Cafe the Lodge.
Students will showcase a variety of original written works, from poetry to prose to short stories and spoken word. Come celebrate creativity, expression and the power of storytelling.
Charter Arts is honored to continue its collaboration with Cafe the Lodge which began over 10 years ago as part of SouthSide Arts District First Friday celebrations.
Students of the Charter Arts Literary Arts Department engage in a comprehensive writing curriculum with courses such as Character Development, Exploration of Modernism & Postmodernism, Children’s Literature, Film Studies, Exploration of the Romantic Style, Media Studies, and more.
Artistic Director, Kristin Liemberger, shares: "Students write and analyze creatively and critically, experimenting with their own creative voices in the construction, production, and performance of original works. This intensive program provides students with a rigorous curriculum rooted in the creative process while reinforcing that reading, writing, film, and the spoken word are integral parts of the history and advancement of society."
