Garden Variety Eggs is proud to host Easter Around the World at the Banana Factory on April 9. Artist and Owner Jen Wanisko will share unusual Easter stories and traditions from Mexico, France, Kenya and other countries from around the globe. Wanisko will also demonstrate colonial methods of naturally dying eggs with onion skins and the Pennsylvania German practice of “scratch-carving” eggs. Pysanky artist Christina Deutsch will demonstrate the intricate technique of this popular Ukranian tradition. Poured Paint Artist Karen Crichton will show her colorful works of art on canvass and how she has adapted her method to produce contemporary egg art.
