To Combat ‘COVID Slide,’ Philly Plans to Mix Learning and Summer Rec. Programming

Every summer, kids experience a summer learning loss called the “summer slide.” But the pandemic is proving to have made the problem even worse, with this year’s edition dubbed the “COVID slide.”

Now Philadelphia’s Parks and Recreation department has a plan to incorporate more learning into their summer programming, to help kids prepare for the upcoming school year. WHYY’s Robby Brod has more.
