WDIY's Marcie Lightwood talks about the Lehigh Valley's less fortunate and homeless during the holidays — touching on what residents may think is a good donation versus what may really be needed. Verrone Demesyeux, Associate Executive Director of Bethlehem's New Bethany Ministries and Sarah Massaro of the Safe Harbor Easton shelter give tips and details for giving this holiday season.

Marcie Lightwood came to WDIY to set up WDIY's first on-air membership drive, and she has stayed with the station ever since. Marcie is a self-employed social worker, specializing in parenting education, working with people in poverty and group facilitation. Currently, Marcie serves as local host for NPR's All Things Considered on Friday afternoons along with producing special WDIY news features. She is the mother of four grown children and lives in Allentown.
