Interview: Musician Ed McKendry and Producer Phil Joly | The Blend

Left to right: Phily Joly, Bill Dautremont-Smith, Ed McKendry

Blend host Bill Dautremont-Smith talks with Lehigh Valley musician Ed McKendry along with Grammy-winning producer and recording engineer Phil Joly about Ed's newly-released solo album Blue Steps.

McKendry was one of the guitarists in the award-winning Air Products corporate band The Difference, and on this new solo album recorded during the pandemic, he plays nearly all the instrumentation and sings on a set of his original compositions. McKendry also co-produced the album with Joly.

Phil Joly is a recording engineer who was the chief engineer at the famed Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Joly has recently returned to the Lehigh Valley and set up his own studio. He talks about the production of Blue Steps, and we listen to some of the tracks.

Songs heard:

1. "Guitar for Whiskey"
2. "Slipstream"
3. "Her Loving Anyhow"
