In Memory of WDIY Volunteer George Miller

George Miller along with his wife Kate Scuffle in 2019, hosting Lehigh Valley Arts Salon.

We remember valued WDIY volunteer and friend George Miller who passed away peacefully in his Allentown, PA home on April 13, 2021. He was 77 years-old.
Alongside his wife Kate Scuffle, George served as a rotating host of Lehigh Valley Arts Salon on WDIY since 2012. Throughout his time behind the microphone, George spoke with many theater performers, members of prominent arts organizations, and artists of all kinds. George usually began each episode of Lehigh Valley Arts Salon with a memorable introduction for his guests which had a flourish and poise that only a veteran stage performer could provide.

George worked in professional theater and film for 45 years as an actor, director, playwright, designer, and arts educator. His most recent position was Artistic Director of Selkie Theatre, a “dual citizenship” company producing in both the USA and Ireland.

Earlier in 2021, George recorded a special performance for WDIY's Virtual 26th Anniversary Party, reading an original spoken word piece called "The Durango Kid."  The performance premiered during the live anniversary event on March 20, 2021.  You can watch the performance below.

WDIY is grateful to George for his years of volunteering, on-air hosting, and friendship at the station. He will be missed dearly.
