Kim Weitkamp: The Forgotten Souped Up Sleigh Ride

Last year for my December show I played Bill Harley’s A Great Sled Race. Since then I have found a second sledding story. This one by another teller, Kim Weitkamp. Kim hails from Virginia. But I know that she grew up in Pennsylvania around the Lancaster area. So we can claim her as a local girl. The story is called The Forgotten Souped Up Sleigh Ride. This story is from one of Kim’s CDs, Freckles, Fibs, and Family. Get ready for a tall tale Christmas story.

That was Kim Whitecamp. You may or may not believe her story. But she assures us that the Spartan sled still hangs in her grandfather’s garage.

The Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild holds its Storytelling Circle at Godfrey Daniels at 7 East 4th Street in Bethlehem on the second Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 pm (except the month of August). Come and listen to stories or try out a story yourself. We are a friendly audience and the event is free.

Until next time, have fun and keep a story in your heart.
