The Riverside Festival of the Arts will return to the Easton waterfront this Saturday and Sunday. This year marks the 17th appearance for the festival which hosts visual arts, live music, vendors, and a juried plein air art contest with a chance to nab $1,600 for the best piece. Ellen Shaughnessy is on the festival's committee and gave us five things she's most excited for this weekend.
1. "Great weather!"
2. "I love when the plein air art starts rolling in on Sunday afternoon--such diverse styles and unique ideas; a great surprise of more talent every year."

3. "Getting a huge jumpstart on my holiday shopping--the caliber of art, pottery, jewelry is top-notch; tough to find a juried selection like this in one handy spot."

4. "Fantastic live music; love James Supra Blues Band and the unique sound of Hot Bijouxx."
5. "Hanging out and enjoying a great creative community vibe in such a beautiful location; cool people, great art, children enjoying creative projects--a great weekend to truly enjoy Easton's beautiful riverside. So much history and natural beauty. I imagine the Lenni Lenape that settled along the meeting of the rivers a couple hundred years ago and imagine their celebrations of creativity here as well."

The Riverside Festival of the Arts will run Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21 from 10 am to 5 pm and is free to the public. Events take place at Easton's downtown riverfront. More information is at their official site.
