Activists, Community Leaders Call for More Action from Philly Mayor Kenney on Gun Violence

A group of kids from the Southwest Philadelphia Healthnastics program, ages 3-18, held signs at a protest demanding the Kenney administration do more to address gun violence in the city on August 4, 2021.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney is facing pressure from activists and community leaders to do more to curb gun violence in the city. As WHYY’s Ximena Conde reports, the first of two protests this week was held in front of City Hall.
