Summer of Soul | At the Movies

Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) is the documentary feature film directorial debut of Ahmir Thompson, better-known as Questlove and leader of The Roots, the house band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Summer of Soul chronicles the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, dubbed the “Black Woodstock.” Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press reviews the documentary music film.
