Photos: Easton Circle Downtown Throwdown

Easton's circle welcomed skaters near and far on Saturday as Homebase Skateshop and Drinkys Pub teamed up to host the Downtown Throwdown. Ramps and a half pipe were open to the public from 3-7 pm. The rest of the night saw skaters from as far away as Reading competing for Homebase merchandise and $500 cash.

Events included the game of S.K.A.T.E. (modeled after the basketball game H.O.R.S.E.), a long ollie contest off of a ramp, and a best trick competition off a ramp over a pick-up truck. Homebase Skateshop owner Andy Po served as master of ceremonies for the events with microphone in hand, providing commentary and encouragement to the skaters.

While skating was the main focus Saturday, there were other attractions for attendees. Several local artists were on hand creating paintings of the Easton cityscape. Clothing and food vendors were also set up in the circle. Live DJs provided music throughout the day until events wrapped up at 10 pm.
