Oscar Contenders: The Tragedy of Macbeth and The Power of the Dog | At the Movies

In the lead up to the announcement of the Oscar nominations on Feb. 8, Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press looks at two more strong contenders. The Tragedy of Macbeth is an update to the Shakespeare classic, directed by Joel Coen and starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. The Power of the Dog is a sprawling Montana western drama, directed by Jane Campion and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst.
