Exhibition "The Eighth Street Bridge Turns 100" on Arts Salon

Host George and Kate welcome Ann Lalik from The Art Gallery at Penn State Lehigh Valley about the new exhibition titled The Eighth Street Bridge Turns 100, which will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Albertus Meyers Bridge in Allentown. This bridge that is commonly referred to as the 8thStreet Bridge was dedicated on November 17, 1913. General Harry C. Trexler is credited for the impetus to build the bridge to enhance the economy of the Lehigh Valley as it connected the north and south sides of Allentown. This exhibition will feature approximately 30 regional artists who have already created art about this well documented landmark or who will be invited to create a work of art in their medium.  (Original air date November 4, 2013.)
