More Federal Funding Coming to the State to Combat the Impact of Coal Mining

Underground mining of anthracite coal began in the Lackawanna River Watershed in the 1820s, leaving a lasting environmental impact. Now, federal funding will help combat issues still plaguing Northeast PA as well as the rest of Pennsylvania because of its coal mining history. WVIA’s Kat Bolus has more.
