''Grumman Greenhouse'' has occupied Lenfest Plaza at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts since 2011. The sculpture features a Navy war plane that has been converted into a greenhouse.

A sculpture of a plane crashed outside the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia eleven years ago. Now it's being removed. WHYY's Peter Crimmins reports the sculpture was always meant to be temporary.

WHYY’s arts and culture reporter Peter Crimmins first became interested in radio in the fourth grade, when he smuggled a contraband crystal-diode radio into the Boy Scout summer camp. Subsequent radio projects were more successful.
