We are in the month of November. There are some special days in November: All Saints Day, Veterans Day, and of course Thanksgiving.
But let not forget some of this month’s lesser days. Besides being Peanut Butter Lovers Month, November contains Marooned without a Compass Day, Plan Your Epitaph Day,
Chaos Never Dies Day, Eat a Cranberry Day, and All Our Uncles are Monkeys Day. (That last is a tribute to Charles Darwin.)
There is one more I want to warn you about. Tomorrow is Have a Bad Day Day. It was created in response to all those who have frequently and thoughtlessly said to you “Have a nice day.” On this day people are encouraged to do the opposite. Kind of refreshing. I think.
Well, I thought I would celebrate the upcoming Have a Bad Day Day by airing a story about a bad day. This bad day belongs to Bil Lepp, the storytelling world’s favorite tall tale teller and accomplished liar. Here is Bil Lepp and his story, There Stands a Bridge.
That was Bil Lepp.
The Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild holds its Storytelling Circle at Godfrey Daniels at 7 East 4th Street in Bethlehem on the second Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 pm (except the month of August). Come and listen to stories or try out a story yourself. We are a friendly audience and the event is free.
That’s all for now, have fun and keep a story in your heart. And, have a bad day.
