Twenty five years ago, on January 8, 1995, WDIY officially began broadcasting at 8 am. These excerpts were collected from the first hour on the air.

Included are Cheryl Haughney (current WDIY Board president), NPR reporter Cokie Roberts, Bethlehem mayor Ken Smith, Lehigh Valley Press Focus section editor Paul Willistein (current host of WDIY's At the Movies), Allentown mayor Bill Heydt, and Theatre Outlet Executive Director Kate Scuffle (current host of WDIY's Lehigh Valley Arts Salon).
