“Wonder” is a wonderful film that is not presented as an anti-bullying film per se. “Wonder” is about August “Auggie” Pullman, born with mandibulofacial dystosis, known as Treacher Collins Syndrome.

Stephen Chbosky (director, screenwriter, author, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”; screenwriter, “Beauty and the Beast”) directs “Wonder” from a screenplay he co-wrote with Steven Conrad (screenwriter, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” “The Pursuit of Happyness”) and Jack Thorne (screenwriter, “War Book”) based on the novel by R.J. Palacio.

Starring as Auggie is Jacob Tremblay (“Room”). Playing Auggie’s mother is Julia Roberts. Playing Auggie’s father is Owen Wilson. In supporting roles: Mandy Patinkin, Sonia Braga and Daveed Diggs.

Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press reviews the drama.
