With cold weather here, drivers should be aware of a Pennsylvania law passed earlier this year that requires them to clear snow and ice off their vehicles before hitting the road. WPSU’s Katie Knol has more.
The law says drivers have 24 hours after a storm to clear their hood, trunk, and roof. Drivers who don't comply can be pulled over by police and issued a $50 fine. If the snow or ice hits another vehicle or pedestrian and causes serious injury or death, a $200-$1,500 fine can be issued. This is an increase to the previous maximum fine of $1,000.
