Penn State Names Neeli Bendapudi as 19th University President

Neeli Bendapudi, currently president of the University of Louisville, was named the 19th president of Penn State University on Dec. 9, 2021, by the Board of Trustees.

Penn State’s Board of Trustees has named the university’s 19th president during a special meeting Thursday. WPSU’s Min Xian reports the current president at the University of Louisville, Neeli Bendapudi, will become the first woman and the first person of color to serve as Penn State’s president.
