Documents that are part of a lawsuit against U.S. Steel show corroded machine parts and deteriorating conditions at the Clairton Coke Works led to a catastrophic fire in 2018 that knocked out the plant’s pollution controls for over three months. For StateImpact Pennsylvania, the Allegheny Front’s Reid Frazier reports.
