Philadelphia Council to Consider Limiting Outside Employment After Member’s Bribery Conviction

Philadelphia district 7 Councilmember Maria Quiñones Sánchez called for reforms at a press conference and petition signing in reaction to Philadelphia Councilmember Bobby Henon and Local 98 manager John Dougherty were convicted on corruption charges, at the City Hall Courtyard on November 29, 2021.

Philadelphia City Councilmember Maria Quinones-Sanchez wants to limit outside employment for city lawmakers. WHYY’s Aaron Moselle reports, the measure is a response to a federal jury convicting one of her colleagues on Council of bribery.
