On this special two-part edition, we focus on promising high school students in the Lehigh Valley, first looking at the fascinating clubs of William Allen High School in Allentown and then debuting our new quartely feature, Teen Scientist, by spotlighting a Moravian Academy student's scientific and business accomplishments.
Starting off the hour, John Pearce looks at William Allen High School in Allentown. He welcomes Faculty Advisor Donna Grecian as well as senior Nathalie Reyes and sophomore Chelsea Zucal. The students discuss two unique clubs they participate in--The Anti-Bullying Club, which deals with a subject very much in the news, and the PPL Engineering Explorers Club, which sees PPL engineers meeting with these highschoolers.
Our new quarterly feature, Teen Scientist, premieres in the second half of the program with teenage host Rhea Malhotra. On this edition, Rhea speaks with Isha Mohapatra, a senior at Moravian Academy in Bethlehem about her research, engineering, and the business she started involving bricks and how to make them more insulating for use in home and commericial building construction.
