Rick Weaver Announced as Candidate for Member Representative

WDIY
Rick Weaver is the weekly host of Celtic Faire and one of the founding volunteers of WDIY.

WDIY volunteer Rick Weaver has been announced as the only candidate running for the soon-to-be-open Member Representative position on WDIY's Board of Directors. The position, one of two slots on the Board, will become available after current Member Representative Steven Kraft's two-year term expires at the end of 2020.

You can read Weaver's statement on his candidacy here.

Rick Weaver is one of the original members of the Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association, the organization which operates WDIY. He is currently the weekly host of Celtic Faire on the station.

WDIY's annual Member Representative election and membership meeting will take place on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The 2020 meeting will be held online due to COVID-19 precautions, and further details on how to virtually participate will be made available closer to the meeting date.

All WDIY members and volunteers are invited to attend the meeting. WDIY Executive Director Greg Capogna will give a "State of the Station" update for everyone in (virtual) attendance.

Participating members, those who have volunteered for WDIY/Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association at least 12 hours in the last year, will then be able to vote on the new Member Representative to the Board of Directors.

WDIY's by-laws provide for two Member Representatives on the Board of Directors to serve as the voice for the members. One representative is elected each year for a two-year term. The Board's other Member Representative is Joe Cassano whose term will expire at the end of 2021.
