At the Movies: Coco

"Coco" is an astonishing animation feature film from Disney-Pixar that explores the mythology of the Mexican holiday, Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead).

"Coco" builds like most feature animation films with humor, singing and chases. Unusually, the majority of the characters are portrayed as skeletons, albeit, in snazzy outfits. In "Coco," a 12-year-old boy, Miguel Rivera, ends up in the land of the dead. There, he befriends his great-great-grandfather, a guitar-strumming singer. The National Board of Review named "Coco" the best animated film of 2017. You may want to put "Coco" on your holiday season movie-going list.

Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press reviews the Animation Adventure Comedy.
