Touchstone Theatre is happy to bring to you the annual Fresh Voices! The MFA class of 2023 will be presenting their original devised works, exploring concepts of identity, change, and connection. This live event consists of a showcase including 2 short theatrical solo performances, 1 thirty-minute ensemble-generated film, and 1 visual gallery experience, with a PG-13 advisory rating.

Murder. Fog. Shadows. Robert Mills presents Snapshots of Noir, a theatrical tribute to the classic film noir genre. Sprawling over 15 minutes, Robert’s performance contains speeches from iconic noirs such as Double Indemnity, The Night of the Hunter and others. PLEASE NOTE: There will be fog used during this performance.
Krystal Danielle presents Up in Smoke, a first person recount of her journey of embracing her naturally curly hair. “Up in Smoke”, explores society’s representation beauty standards for black woman.
A visual gallery consisting of 180 original pieces of abstract digital art and projections, Sam Thompson’s body_of_work reimagines and presents a room as an opportunity for audience meaning-making. Enjoy stepping foot into the strange space they’ve created for you. The gallery will be open with free admission to the public May 28th through June 2nd, from 6-9 pm, in the Sala X room at Touchstone Theatre.
Created and envisioned by Sam, Robert, and Krystal, 3 is an abstract film that explores the concepts and questions of our identities — asking who we are and who we could be.
