Interview: Bakithi Kumalo on The Blend

South African bassist Bakithi Kumalo, Paul Simon's long time bassist since the recording in South Africa of Paul Simon's classic 'Graceland' album, joins host Scott Sherk in the studio. 

They discuss Bakithi's upcoming performance with the All-Star Graceland Tribute Band happening Saturday, September 1, at the Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks, and about Bakithi's long association with Paul Simon.

Michelini previewed his Musikfest show later that night where he appeared for an acoustic solo American Trappist set.

WDIY Studio Session: KALO

The band is made-up of Israeli-born guitarist, singer, and songwriter Bat-Or Kalo as well as Oklahoma musicians Chad Roper on bass and Mike Alexander on drums/percussion.

The Big Drops were in town to perform at the Musikfest Café later this day as part of Musikfest 2018.

Cops 'n' Kids President Beverly Bradley on The Blend

Cops 'n' Kids Lehigh Valley President Beverly Bradley joined Shamus McGroggan live in the studio during WDIY's 2018 Spring Pledge Drive to discuss the drive partnership.

For every $100 WDIY raises during the drive, three books will be provided to Cops 'n' Kids Lehigh Valley courtesy of the Renaissance Hotel in Allentown.

Bradley also discussed her organization which provides books to children throughout the year as well as their upcoming free Celebration of Reading event on April 28, 2018 at Northampton Community College's Fowler Family SouthSide Center in Bethlehem.

The Accidentals Live on The Blend

Michigan indie alt-Americana band The Accidentals joined host Bill Dautremont-Smith in the studio for a live performance and interview about their meteoric career.

This young multi-instrumentalist trio are on a national tour promoting their third album, Odyssey, that has garnered critical acclaim and a lot of airplay on WDIY. The band was in town to play a show later that night at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
