Kathy Long: Magic Garden of the Poor

The 2015 Winter Children’s Series that the Guild produces at Godfrey Daniels has already started. On Sunday afternoon of February 1st there will be a Kid’s Open Mic, which promises to be lots of fun. Get the kids out the house while getting ready for that Super Bowl party.

Then, on Sunday afternoon, February 15th, Kathy Long will be telling her stories as part of our 2015 Winter Children’s Series. I am going to play you one of Kathy’s stories for our show today. Besides being a storyteller, Kathy is an author, illustrator, and historical interpreter. She has published two books and recorded two CDs. Today’s story is from her CD “The Legend of Glen Onoko.” The tale is “Magic Garden of the Poor.”

Here is Kathy Long.

That was Kathy Long. She will be appearing at our 2015 Winter Children’s Series, at Godfrey Daniels, Sunday, February 15th, at 2:00pm. Following in March, on the first Sunday, will be Robin Reichert; on the third Sunday, Denise McCormack, and on the Fifth Sunday, and ending our series, Catherine Moore.

Cops & Kids will be at all the shows, handing out free book, worth the price of admission. Come join us and listen to the best stories being told in the valley.

The Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild holds its Storytelling Circle at Godfrey Daniels at 7 East 4th Street in Bethlehem on the second Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 pm (except the month of August). Come and listen to stories or try out a story yourself. We are a friendly audience and the event is free.

That’s all for now, have fun, and keep a story in your heart.
